If you have lived in Galt for more than a summer or two, you already know the rhythm. The market opens before the coffee shops do. The Fourth ends with kids asleep in lawn chairs at Veterans Field. Cosumnes goes quiet the second the last sandhill crane heads north. What is different about this year is the map itself. Between Lincoln Way, Twin Cities Road, and the Simmerhorn Road off-ramp, three separate projects are actively reshaping where residents will eat, shop, and gas up by the time the school year starts. That is the story this summer, and the everyday stuff we always do sits on top of it.
Start on Lincoln Way. The old O'Hara Realty building at 218 S. Lincoln Way is being taken down to the studs and rebuilt as Block 7, a farm-to-fork restaurant.
